Once you register as a Legal Professional, select your membership level and pay the applicable fee, you can begin using MyLawBid. For more information about pricing, see [link to Pricing chart]. Once you log in, you will be able to access and respond to the Requests for Legal Proposals (“RLP”) submitted by Businesses, Organizations and Individuals. The length of the process depends on the timeline set out in the RLP.

You will know if you are one the Legal Professionals chosen if you receive an appointment from the Business, Organization or Individual specifying that they would like to discuss their matter with you further. At this point, you will discover the identity of the Business, Organization or Individual. Please keep in mind that a Business, Organization or Individual will be able to organize meetings with more than one Legal Professional so you may not yet have been retained by them by just receiving an appointment invitation.

MyLawBid is also interested in connecting Lawyers and Legal Professionals in different jurisdictions or different areas of law with one another. Any user, including Lawyers and Legal Professionals, is able to submit an RLP at no cost. For example, if you are a Legal Professional that does not pay the annual subscription fee, you may still submit RLP's. The Legal Professional, however, will not be able to respond to RLP's and meet potential clients in their areas of legal expertise.

During the registration process for your Status Membership, you will be immediately asked for payment. If, within 7 days of registering with MyLawBid, you would like to cancel your Status Membership with MyLawBid, a cancellation fee of $25 (plus applicable taxes) will be deducted from your monthly subscription fee and the balance will be refunded to you.

If you have previously cancelled your Premium or Status Membership and received a refund, the payment of your Premium Membership fee is final and non-refundable. See Section 7 of the Terms and Conditions for more details.

Given the lack of available information on lawyers’ fees, it may feel as if the Lawyers and Legal Professionals have the upper hand in negotiating the terms of your relationship. With MyLawBid, you are in control of the process. You set the deadlines and you pick the Legal Professional that is appropriate for you.

You set the timeline and the deadlines. Indicate in the RLP when the deadline is for submissions by Lawyers and Legal Professionals and select the Legal Professional that is suitable for your needs as quickly as you would like. You are in control and determine the timing and outcome of the process.

Depending on the area of law and the city in which live, the cost of legal services can vary. In addition, the more experienced and specialized a lawyer is, the more their services will cost in comparison to one that is less experienced or is more of a generalist.
